About our Instructor, Mrs. Puma

Hello! I attended Eastern Michigan and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Education and Marketing in 1996. It was actually two teachers in high school that made me become interested in business classes. But, I did not decide to be a teacher until my sophomore year in college. In high school I wanted to be an accountant but then changed my mind after a few classes in college.
I was hired for a position as a marketing teacher and one of the responsibilities is to run the school store. The class actually decides on what to sell. They select the candy and design all of the clothes. But, I do make the final decision based on financial issues and school appropriateness.
The school store is designed to give the student employees the understanding of how an actual store runs. Some of the money made goes back into the school to help fund class projects and school events.
Both my husband and myself are Lake Shore grads! I have 2 kids: a boy, who is 9 years old and a girl who is 3. I like to travel, camp, scrapbook family pictures and listen to country music.
